The 1950s
The 1950s were a time of huge changes for my family. My mother immigrated to the US in 1949, and my father in 1950. The spent the first half of the decade learning English and becoming Americans. They met in 1955, married on 1956, and spent the rest of the decade building a new home, beginning their family, and living the American dream.
