It was a very long drive to Bakchysaray, the Tatar capital of Crimea. Our bus was too big to take the short route across the mountains, so we drove along the coast west to Sevastopol, skirting the mountains, and then inland. Many naps were taken on the way.
The landscape shifted form a rocky coast to smaller hills with vineyards as we traveled inland.

Once we arrived, we had a nice midmorning picnic snack before setting out on our adventures.
