The farm was located in Neillsville, Wisconsin. My grandparents, aunt and uncle moved there from Chicago in 1953, after my Aunt Nina’s marriage to my Uncle John. There were other Ukrainian families in the area, and a church, so they had lots of friends.
The farm was a dairy farm, 100 acres of gently rolling farmland and forest. They grew oats (for the chickens), corn, alfalfa and clover (for the cows). There was a huge vegetable garden, a small orchard, grapes and lots of flowers. They had cows, pigs, chicken, ducks, geese, dogs, and lots and lots of cats.
